Help / Tutorial inside DJ App
Press Ctrl H to show / hide the Hints. These hints will answer most of the questions you will have by simply moving the mouse over any item in DJ App.
Alternatively Press Alt Shift T to show the Tutorial instead. Use Ctrl H to hide the tutorial.
What do I do with columns that have an Err?
- A column that has an "Err" is an a result of a failed attempt to convert something. Master Genre is based on Genre. Camlot is based on Key.
- Please email us the Genre value and Key value of the song with "Err" to us to we can update the app to fix this issue.
How do I add music?
- Easiest of all methods is to Drag and Drop Folders or Files  into the Library
- Use the Directory Browser Tab (Alt D) to navigate to the directory where your music is located. The app will all songs, videos, and pictures, automatically.
 >> You can find all songs in the current directory by clicking on the Drill bit icon to "Drill" through all sub directories.
There are so many keyboard shortcuts. How can I remember so many?
- There are indeed many because DJ App can do so many things.
- Remember that Ctrl H - Will show / hide hints. So, turn hints on and pickup on the keyboard combinations you use frequently and memorize those.
- Note: Hint font size and Show/Hide Settings can be found the in the Main settings on the Dash board.
- Start with the F1 to F12 keys. These are the basic and most frequent functions.
- Then start picking up on the Alt keys. These are used to show and hide.
- Following that pick up on the Ctrl keys. These are used to trigger things such as DX8. Ex: Ctrl E will trigger the Echo effect.
- The keys are designed with thought as to what is being done. For example. Alt D will show you the Drives. Next to D are F and S. Alt F will show you the files and Alt S will show you the Directories.
- For the DX8. Looking at the keyboard you see E, R, T, and below it is D, F, G. Use Ctrl E: to launch Echo, R: Reverb, T: Chorus. D: distortion, F: Flanger, and G: Gargle. In about 1 week of continued use, everything will make sense.
How do I change the sound output device for the player?
- Each player has a VU meter that reflects the sound volume when playing a song. By clicking on the VU meter an option to select the sound output device will be visible. The Jingles sound output device can be set one by one or all together from the Jingles global settings.
How does DJ App recognize Dance Formation, Speed, Dance Level, and Content?
DJ App looks for special identifiers inside the file name, any single sub directory , and the Id3 tags: Title, Artist, Album, Comment, and Grouping to identify the song.
Single Alpha Characters surrounded by [brackets] or (parenthesis) or {braces} containing any of the letters below will trigger a song identification. Example: [c]
In some cases triple alpha characters (initials) are used to trigger song identification: Example: adv
A Jingle song identification may be triggered by the term 'sounds' 'fx' 'jingle' etc.
Lastly, the exact name of the dance identification will trigger a song identification: example: Advanced.

Here is the chart used to identify songs. It is not case sensitive.
